Cherry and plum blossoms glow! Pavilion’s decorations are bursting with beautiful displays of flowers. cherry and plum blossoms actually carry significant meaning to Chinese New Year. They symbolize the earth ‘coming back to life’ to welcome and usher in the new year. Pavilion did well in utilizing that concept for their decoration this year. Pay them a visit and you’ll see cherry and plum blossoms in the masses in the main hall, even raining down on you from the ceiling.
The halls of Mid Valley has been transformed into a floral sanctuary. The tranquil setting is adorned by thousands of flowers laced through the bird cage inspired lattices. The very essence of the mall seems to scream the theme of ‘bountiful blossoms’ meant to signify fortune and prosperity in the coming year.
3. Suria KLCC
KLCC has brought to live a rather authentic tea garden to bring in the Chinese New Year atmosphere. There are tea house booth sets and fake tea leaves hanging out in the air to fake dry on real bamboo racks. The atmosphere is so authentic that you could feel as though you’ve traveled back through the ages when sit down on one of those rattan chairs and have drink of tea.
1Utama seems to be featuring a pinkish tone for their decorations, perhaps to contrast against the traditional ‘Red’ that would be all over town. Their setup consist of booths topped with traditional Chinese curved roofs and boats in the middle to serve as seating, with willow trees lining together to make out a walkway.
5. Sunway Pyramid
Sunway has gone all out to bring their traditional theme to life. The set up is inspired by Zhouzhuang, a town in the province of Jiangsu that is renowned for its canals. The set is alive with a number of traditional activities such as hanging out at a tea house, buying dragon beard candy, and calligraphy. You can see cherry blossoms, willows, imperial guardian lion statues, wooden infrastructure, even a river that flows through the set.
