With CNY in full swing, the sun isn’t gonna get tamer anytime soon. So for those of us who have already fell victim to its rays, here are some natural remedies to help soothe and ease sun-damaged skin.
2. Aloe Vera
The aloe vera plant is known as the go to cure for sunburns, as it is well known for treating burns. What very makes this plant great, is that it grows easy in most gardens. Just take a leaf and cut lengthwise to release the soothing juices.
3. Cucumber Slices
Spas use these for a good reason. Simply place a few cut slices on tender areas and allow the cucumber’s texture and cooling properties work and instantly soothe and calm any sore skin.
4. Apple Cider Vinegar
For instant pain relief, try adding a cup of the apple cider vinegar to your bath water and soak in it. Alternatively try dabbing a bit on the affected area if its a smaller surface.
Strawberries are know to contain tannin, which can help alleviate the sting of sunburn. Try using some as a topical balm by mashing a cup of ripened strawberries together and applying them to sun-burnt areas and leaving it on for a few minutes before rinsing with fresh water.
Potatoes, carry starch-based compounds which are thought to help soothe sunburn. Chop an uncooked potato into slices and pat down on sore, sunburned spots.
7. Vitamin E
Application of vitamin E has been used clinically used to treat sunburn and scar tissue and is commonly used to assist in the healing of abrasions, burns and stretch marks. Try piercing a capsule of pure vitamin E and use the oil directly on the skin.
