What do adults want in their house? We’ve done the kid’s and teen’s dream room but what about the adults? As everyone grows older, they may want things at home to be basic and most importantly functional. However, this list will go beyond that. Here are some of the things adults want at home, if you ask!
1. Sunken sofa
A sunken sofa functions as a cosy nook in the house. What makes it popular again is due to its openness in the home. A sunken sofa is a good design hack especially if you have low ceilings. It is also great for larger groups to gather and hang out. Sunken sofas aren’t only limited for the indoors, it can be made into outdoor seating as well. Having sunken seating eliminates the need to build walls to separate areas as well.
2. Giant bed
The bed is a heaven for all of us. What’s even better is if you have double king beds without a drop in the middle! Imagine that, a full-sized double king bed! Anyone who has the bed can roll around on the bed and spread out comfortably.
3. Home sauna
Although we have the natural heat, saunas are still popular. Instead of sharing the room with strangers, you can have a personal family one for the house. It’s usually designed like a cute garden shed. A more modern design are the wet saunas with glass walls situated in the bathroom of the house. And, since we’re going above and beyond… make it fit the home!
4. Jacuzzi tub
An upgrade for the usual bathtub is one that has jets in it. Yup, it’ll be a jacuzzi. Having your own jacuzzi tub at home is also much more hygienic than the public ones. It’ll be nice to be able to soak in the tub after a long weekend.
5. Home cinema
For movie buffs, a home cinema complete with the best stereo system is a dream come true! Imagine a wide screen TV, comfy sofas, beautiful lighting for the perfect ambience and a good sound system. It’s even better if you can combine a game room in it too. It’ll be the room where you can find everybody in the house!
6. Private swimming pool
A private pool means there’s no need to pay membership just to swim! Having one at home also means there’s no need to drive to the public pool. The best thing is you can jump in anytime and maintain the cleanliness to your liking.
7. A complete library
This is for the bookworms. Imagine floor to ceiling shelves with ladders to climb to reach the highest books. Then, add in some comfy reading chairs and a reading nook. It’s the perfect setup for those who like collecting and reading books.
8. A garage filled with cars
The garage of dreams and envy for car enthusiasts. It’ll be like having their very own car roadshow every single minute of their lives. The icing on the cake will be a garage with a view or a hidden underground garage. The biggest problem will be choosing which car to drive for the day.
Now… where do we find all that money to do it all?
