It’s been said by a lot of experts and parents that there needs to be a return of kids playing outside more again. Of course, e can’t just bring them outside and expect them to integrate right away.
They need a little push in the right direction. So to help them, here are some great outdoor games to help them enjoy being outdoors.
With just some coloured chalk and some boxes, kids can enjoy this age-old game. You help your children draw a huge hopscotch path, and maybe even add extra fun by trading traditional hopscotch square shapes for cars, butterflies, fish, and other fun designs.
You’d be surprised at how fun a simple race around the block can be. Kids are natural competitive in nature, so why let them have an activity to help channel that competitiveness. You can even put a spin on the race with burlap sacks and have an old-fashioned sack race! Or, divide children into pairs and bind their inside legs together for a fun three-legged race.
Alternatively, you could have the kids go a little crazy with a game of tag. There are different rules out there, but the game is the still a catching game. Kids of all ages love to run and be chased!
5. Tea Time
Then again, some kids like it quiet and relaxing. From them, a simple tea party is enough of an adventure in the great outdoors. Let the children take their favourite stuffed animals to an afternoon picnic on the lawn. Cups, kettles, and cupcakes make the perfect spread for a playful day in the shade.
