Dinosaurs may be long extinct but they will always evoke a sense of wonder in us because they are part of our natural history. With Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom released in the cinemas recently, there are lots of dinosaur merchandises floating around and some have wondered whether it could be used to decorate the home?
Here are several ways that you can!
1. Get dino wallpaper
For a child who is interested in dinosaurs, covering a section of the room wall in dinosaur wallpaper is marvelous. Using wallpapers is also handy just in case the child loses interests in the creatures. Other options include using wall decals or stickers featuring dinosaurs.
2. Have fun with lighting
Dinosaur-themed lights are suitable for both the young and old. Whether you upcycle a lamp you already have with dinosaur toys or invest in some cute 3D wall lights, it’ll make an interesting addition in the room it’s in. For an adult look, the dinosaurs can always be spray painted in metallic colours.
3. Put up wall art
One of the easiest ways to decorate the room for a dino-loving home is to hang up dinosaur wall art. It can be a painting, a drawing by the kids, an abstract art or a 3D craft that can be hung or mounted. If you have a beloved set of dinosaur toy figurines, they can be displayed too!
4. Be creative with toys
If you have a set of dinosaur figurines that you love, they can be displayed in places such as the bookshelf, in the flower pot or the corner of a study table. In this DIY article, you’ll find out that dinosaur toys can be made into tin knobs too! Larger toys can even hold the toilet roll for you in the bathroom as well.
5. Bedding and rug
Another easier way to incorporate dinosaurs into the bedroom is to get beautiful bedding. If you manage to find a rug that has dinosaurs in it, lucky you!
7. Doorstopper or bookends
Larger and heavier dinosaurs can be made into a doorstopper or bookends. Imagine a cute dinosaur holding the door open for you and keeping your books upright! It may also encourage kids to approach their bookshelf because they are drawn to the dinosaurs.
Last but not least, it’s pinata time! Dinosaur pinatas are not only adorable but it’ll be a great activity for kids (and adults) at parties. If not, you can make one just for display at home 😉
