In Singapore, HDB flats are the choice of many people looking to buy a house and this one located at Bukit Batok Street that is redone by Icon Interior Design is so beautiful that it simply stands out from the rest of the crowd. In this sleek five-room apartment, the designers decided to go with a modern Victorian theme dressed in a classic black and gold combination. This makes it look contemporary and stylish.
The flat has been utterly transformed by the designers into something that is super luxurious and elegant that is bound to impress any guests the owners have. The furnishings use clean and sharp lines that make it look spacious and roomy. Although the predominant colour palette here is black and gold, white furnishings are also used to provide contrast.
The living room and dining area is open plan that uses the same flooring but it is different in the kitchen. For the living room, it uses boasts large-format marble tiles while the kitchen has plain tiles. As for the bedroom, the designers chose to go with vinyl wood-patterned tiles for a different feel.
The kitchen has minimal furnishings that keep it looking clean and uncluttered but the black and gold decor here adds a luxurious touch. Cute decals on the kitchen door and bedroom door proudly mark out its function while managing to inject some whimsy into the home to keep it from looking too boring.
Inside the bedroom, it is done rather elegantly and veers away from the black and gold decor you see in the public areas. In here, the designers went with a deep blue and gold feature wall that pairs well with the other white walls. The TV is mounted on the wall opposite the bed to save space and the bedding goes well with the feature wall by using similar colours. The wardrobe and dressing room is done up in beige and grey, adding another interesting look to the home while the posh bathroom is decked out in black marble and gold for the ultimate luxurious feel.
