Exterior Area: (Bridge Over Water by HYLA Architect)
Living Area: (Bridge Over Water by HYLA Architect)
Designed by Hyla Architects, this house is known as Bridge Over Water; and the name was derived from the glass bridge that spans across the pool leading to the living room. The entrance to this house is slightly elevated and once has to climb through a staircase to get inside the house.
Kitchen Area:
The solid timber front door is the first thing that greets you and once you step inside, you can see its namesake right there. The swimming pool and patio are right after the front door; and is surrounded by verdant greenery with lots of shade so that you can hang put here without feeling the heat. However, there is an ample amount of light and air coming in from the sides so you don’t have to worry about the space being cramped and tight.
Upstairs Area:
To get to the living room, one has to cross the glass bridge which connects to the dining room and kitchen area as well. If you don’t want to do so, another eye-catching fixture will capture your attention; the beautiful spiral staircase will lead you upstairs directly to one of the bedrooms which is made even more private; as only this staircase gives you access to this bedroom.
There is another more accessible staircase at the living room that gives you access to the family room upstairs; and the other bedrooms as well. This house is punctuated with light, greenery and timber accents; as evidenced by the green plants in almost every corner and the skylight at the roof of the house. The interior uses neutral colours and wood so that it feels like it is fully integrated with nature.
