The Malaysia International Architecture, Interior Design, and Building Materials Exhibition (ARCHIDEX) recently took place from July 26th to 29th and had many excellent exhibitors showcasing their innovative, cutting-edge products. While there were many noteworthy participants in the exhibition, one of the outstanding ones is none other than the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion. Jointly organised by the Bureau of Foreign Trade and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), it showcased green living products.
In an era where environmental concerns have become increasingly prevalent, the need to adopt sustainable practices has become more urgent than ever. Ten Taiwanese companies in the smart home living and building materials sector participated at Taiwan Excellence in ARCHIDEX 2023, presenting 17 Taiwan-developed green building materials, energy-saving green building applications, and carbon-reducing, energy-efficient green building materials.
Green living, which emphasises reducing our ecological footprint and preserving the planet’s resources, has gained significant momentum worldwide. Taiwan Excellence has long been at the forefront of driving sustainable innovations across various industries. With a deep-rooted commitment to environmental conservation, Taiwan Excellence acknowledges the importance of green living and supports the transition toward a more sustainable future with its products.
Some of the remarkable products shown at the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion include Innolux’s Smart Dimming LC Window which automatically adjusts the lighting based on the amount of natural light to significantly reduce building energy consumption; San Jeou Building Material Auto Flood Barrier Shutter that has both anti-theft and waterproof functions; and BenQ Materials’ PDLC Smart Optical Film that blocks heat and damaging ultraviolet light to combat urban heat wave.
Another three outstanding companies that previously received ARCHIDEX Star Awards were present as well to exhibit their innovative products. These include YZTEK’s e+Autoff stove safety device, JLA’s Touch-Free Easy Installation Sensor Flush Kit, and Medusa’s i-WaterProof liquid-type additives. In addition, JUSTIME’s Kitchen Faucet with Pull Out Sprayer, AWA’s Robin RO Kitchen Mixer, ALASKA’s M8 Mini Anti-Bacterial Circulator, and FECA’s Laundry Net Set with Lid was also well-received by the public.
Through their participation at ARCHIDEX 2023, Taiwan Excellence hopes to inspire individuals, businesses, and industries in Malaysia and around the world to embrace green living. By fostering collective responsibility for preserving the environment through showcasing the latest in sustainable technologies and products, Taiwan Excellence believes that by working together, we can create a greener and more sustainable future for generations to come which is why their concept this year is “Connect. Cultivate. Consolidate.”
Moreover, this year, Taiwan Excellence has partnered with the Architecture Department of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and the Architecture and Sustainable Design Department of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) to host the “Sustainable Innovation Challenge” for the first time. This competition allows participants to use Taiwan Excellence products to improve local sustainability concerns creatively.
Prestigious organisations such as the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM), the Malaysia Green Building Council (MGBC) and the Building Materials Distributors Association of Malaysia (BMDAM) were given the honour of choosing the best forward-thinking design concepts. This competition also enables interior design and architectural business networks in Taiwan and Malaysia to foster connections and nurture new stars in the industry.
Taiwan Excellence’s participation at ARCHIDEX 2023 signifies its unwavering commitment to green living and sustainable practices. Their goal is to inspire individuals and industries to embrace a more sustainable lifestyle. Taiwan Excellence serves as an example of how organisations can lead the way in driving positive environmental change.
James Chang, Director of Economic Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia said that he hopes this exhibition can contribute to improving bilateral trade relations between Malaysia and Taiwan as well as expanding its opportunities for cooperation in Southeast Asia. ARCHIDEX 2023 provides an ideal platform for Taiwan Excellence to elevate the conversation around green living and encourage everyone to take action in preserving our planet.
